Arkansas farmers

contribute to a U.S. food system that allows the average citizen to spend less than 10% of their income on food.

Only 11.6 cents of every dollar you spend at the grocery store goes to the farmer.
Each U.S. farmer produces enough food for 155 people.
Arkansas farmers produce a wide variety of foods from rice, poultry, soybeans, beef and dairy products, to sweet potatoes, blackberries, strawberries, pecans, watermelons and more.
According to the Arkansas Agriculture Department there are 85 farmers’ markets in Arkansas. Some have more than 250,000 customers a year.
Arkansans enjoy one of the safest food supplies in the world thanks to strict state and federal regulations. A hamburger is subject to 41,000 state and federal regulations.
